About Us

Our conservation philosophy

An understanding of our approach to conservation is best gained by looking at the case studies elsewhere on our website. Different approaches are needed for different situations, but we aim to retain the maximum amount of historic fabric while meeting the needs of our client. We aim to take a non-confrontational and friendly approach to all our operations.

Our environmental philosophy

We recycle and repair buildings whenever possible.

We use natural, recycled, sustainable and environmentally friendly materials whenever possible.

We minimise the use of chemical treatments and biocides on our projects. We do this by the environmental control of rot and pests; understanding the properties and correct detailing of construction materials; and advising on good maintenance. In accordance with new legislation and conservation best practice we operate a strict no smoking policy in all areas of our offices and sites. Our approach to construction means we produce little waste, but that we do we dispose of in accordance with all current legislation. We maintain a clean and pleasant working environment for our workers and others affected by our work. We minimise the long term impact of our operations on sites.

We use fairly traded products when ever possible.

We do not knowingly trade with companies who are involved in the arms trade or the exploitation of poor countries and people.

Our Health and Safety policy

Ensuring the safety of people working on and affected by our sites is very important to us. We work in accordance with all current Health and Safety legislation and best practice All staff are given regular safety training and we liaise with local schools and community groups where appropriate.
